Interstate 5 Southbound: Multnomah County

Interstate 5 southbound in Multnomah County travels through the city of Portland.

Interstate 5 south
Interstate 5 southbound on the approach to the Exit 302B split with Interstate 405 at the Failing Street Pedestrian Bridge. The right-hand two lanes default onto Interstate 405 southbound & U.S. 30 westbound across the Fremont Bridge. Interstate 405 serves the Portland central business district, while U.S. 30 serves St. Helens and connections to U.S. 26 serve Beaverton. Photo taken by Andrew Fields (06/02/06).
Interstate 84 & U.S. 30 east emerge on the Interstate 5 southbound pull through panel at the Exit 302B ramp departure. A directional "X" stack interchange facilitates movements between Interstate 5, 405, and U.S. 30. U.S. 30 east merges onto Interstate 5 south briefly for the jump onto Interstate 84 at Exit 301. U.S. 30 west follows Interstate 405 south to Exit 3. Photo taken by Andrew Fields (06/02/06).
Just beyond the split with Interstate 5, Interstate 405 encounters a ghost ramp for the cancelled Rose City Freeway. The Rose City Freeway never got beyond the planning stages. A second ramp stub exists on the Interstate 5 northbound flyover for Interstate 405 south. Photo taken by Andrew Fields (06/02/06).
