Welcome to WestCoastRoads!
WestCoastRoads.com covers the highways of the Pacific Coast states and Hawaii. Enjoy!

WestCoastRoads.com is an effort of road enthusiasts Alex Nitzman and Andy Field to cover the highway system of the Pacific Coast states. Here you will find photos and information involving highway history, select construction projects, and guides to cover various Interstates, U.S. Highways, and State Highways. Additionally our focus pages highlight some of the metropolitan area road systems within the state of California.
2005 expansion includes coverage of the Aloha State, Hawaii, through the camera lens of Kevin Trinkle. The Hawaii section of WestCoastRoads.com covers the Interstate highway system found on the island of Oahu. Matt Strieby joins the AARoads family with 2005 coverage of Oregon and planned coverage of Washington in 2006.
Our goal is to cover the highways throughout the West Coast in an effort to aid travelers, tourists, and those who are just curious. Our vision is to provide the viewer with an intimidate look at the roads and highways that traverse our great land. So much attention is given to vacation destinations and attractions or climates and people when considering the concept of traveling or taking roadtrips. But very little attention is given to the roads that carry us from our hometowns to our vacation or business destination of choice. We at AARoads.com try to bridge the gap between the roads taken to work and school each day, the roads taken on annual vacations, and highways driven on other travels. In our effort we make it a point to document as much as possible with our eyes, cameras, and personal observations to give the viewer an idea of what it is like in a place they may be visiting or considering visiting but have never been. Through research, contacts, and our own experiences we strive to portray the national highway system as more than just a way to get from home to the store or from work to lunch, but as an interconnected system between coast to coast.
