While most of California 35 remains away from freeway alignments, it has a brief overlap with Interstate 280 that is unlike the rest of the state highway. California 35 tends to remain in rural and scenic areas along Skyline Boulevard from San Francisco south to Patchen Pass (Junction California 17). As for California 92, this major east-west state highway is the most direct and fastest route to Half Moon Bay and the San Mateo County coast.
