Eastbound Interstate 10
The next exit along eastbound Interstate 10 is Fairplex Drive in La Verne. Use Fairplex Drive southbound to reach Business Loop I-10/Holt Boulevard, in Pomona. The business route is very poorly signed, but a few shields still remain in Pomona. They have largely been removed in Ontario. Photo taken 03/25/05.
The bridge carrying California 71 crosses over Interstate 10 (San Bernardino Freeway). California 71 ends northwest of here, at the point where it merges into California 57 (Orange Freeway). Photo taken 03/25/05.
The next three exits along eastbound Interstate 10 are: Exit 43, Fairplex Drive; Exit 44, Dudley Street; and Exit 45, White Avenue. Photo taken 03/25/05.
The right two lanes exit onto Exit 43, Fairplex Drive from eastbound Interstate 10/San Bernardino Freeway. Taking Fairplex Drive northbound leads to the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds near the Frank G. Bonnelli Regional Park in Pomona. Photo taken 03/25/05.
Eastbound Interstate 10 reaches Exit 43, Fairplex Drive. Photo taken 03/25/05.

Eastbound Interstate 10 reaches Exit 50, Mountain Avenue and Mt. Baldy. Note that there are no longer old-style exit numbers on this stretch of Interstate 10. This is the first Ontario exit, and it leads south into downtown Ontario. Taking Mountain Avenue north leads to Mt. Baldy, a recreational area and ski resort in the Angeles National Forest. The next exit along eastbound Interstate 10 is Exit 51, California 83 (Euclid Avenue) in Ontario. Photo taken 03/25/05.
This mileage sign provides the distance to the next three exits along eastbound Interstate 10: Exit 51, Junction California 83, Euclid Avenue; Exit 53, 4th Street; and Exit 54, Vineyard Avenue. Photo taken 03/25/05.
Eastbound Interstate 10 reaches Exit 51, California 83 (Euclid Avenue). California 83 leads north from here to connect to California 210 freeway and Historic U.S. 66 in Upland, and it leads south along a wide boulevard to enter the heart of Ontario. The median along California 83 is wide enough to hold a park. California 83 continues due south until its end at California 71 in Chino, near the Santa Ana River watershed area. Photo taken 03/25/05.

The next exit along eastbound Interstate 10 is Exit 55, Archibald Avenue in Ontario. This picture was taken from the left lane of Interstate 10 in the carpool/high occupancy vehicle lane. In California, these lanes are only accessible at certain intervals, and the remainder of the time, they are cordoned off by yellow lines such as these. Photo taken 03/25/05.

Eastbound Interstate 10 reaches Exit 55, Archibald Avenue. This exit leads to Ontario International Airport, one of the major regional airports that provides an alternative to congested Los Angeles International Airport or the tiny Burbank, Long Beach, and John Wayne (Orange County) Airports. This interchange is a single-point urban interchange. Photo taken 03/25/05.
Interstate 10 passes under the Archibald Avenue single-point urban interchange. The next exit is for Exit 56, Haven Avenue. Photo taken 03/25/05.

The next exit along eastbound Interstate 10 is Exit 57, Milliken Avenue in Ontario. This sign is mounted on the Haven Avenue overpass. Photo taken 03/25/05.
Eastbound Interstate 10 approaches Exit 57, Milliken Avenue in Ontario. This is former California 31, which was replaced by Interstate 15 once the freeway was complete. Milliken Avenue northbound leads to Ontario Mills, a gargantuan shopping center mecca that occupies the northwest quadrant of the Interstate 10/15 interchange. Photo taken 03/25/05.
The right lane becomes exit only for Exit 57, Milliken Avenue. Photo taken 03/25/05.
Eastbound Interstate 10 reaches Exit 57, Milliken Avenue. The next interchange is with Interstate 15, the Ontario Freeway. Built with Interstate Highway Funds through the 1970s and 1980s, Interstate 15 replaced California 31 as the primary north-south route through eastern Ontario. Photo taken 03/25/05.
The next interchange along eastbound Interstate 10 serves Exits 58A-B, Junction Interstate 15 north to Barstow/Las Vegas and south to San Diego. Photo taken 03/25/05.
Use Exit 58B, Junction Interstate 15 south to Norco and Corona (as well as Temecula, Escondido, and San Diego). Photo taken 03/25/05.
Somewhat counter-intuitively, the first ramp (Exit 58A) from eastbound Interstate 10 connects to northbound Interstate 15 to Victorville, Barstow, and Las Vegas. The second ramp (Exit 58B) connects to southbound Interstate 15. Note that the control cities for Interstate 10 east are San Bernardino and for Indio. It is somewhat surprising that the pull-through sign for Interstate 10 omits Palm Springs, but that may be because that city is not located on Interstate 10 itself. The stack interchange is visible in the distance. Photo taken 03/25/05.
Immediately thereafter is Exit 58B, the ramp from eastbound Interstate 10 to southbound Interstate 15. This nearly (but not quite) symmetrical stack interchange permits high-speed movements in all directions. Photo taken 03/25/05.
