This exit also connects to Westbound Del Puerto Canyon Road, which leads west to connect to California 130 near Mount Hamilton east of San Jose. Northbound Interstate 5 peels off to the right (northeast). Interstate 580 is the most direct route from Interstate 5 into the San Francisco Bay Area (including Dublin/Pleasanton, Walnut Creek, Oakland, Berkeley, Hayward, San Francisco, and all west bayshore cities).
