California 263

California 263 is Historic U.S. 99 between Yreka and Junction California 96 near the Oregon State Line. The route provides an alternative to Interstate 5 roughly parallel to the freeway.

California 263 south
	Southbound California 263 ends at its junction with Business Loop I-5 in Yreka. From here, the business route continues south into Yreka, while through traffic turns left onto Interstate 5 or to meet California 3 to Montague. Contrary to what we've said here in the past, California 3 still passes through Yreka via the original U.S. 99 route/business loop. 	This bridge, which crosses the Klamath River just south the California 96-263 junction, dates back to when this route carried U.S. 99. Now a state route and bypassed by Interstate 5 to the east, this bridge does not carry nearly as much traffic, but the bridge reflects a different era of bridge construction.
